BIO:

Hanaa Malallah a étudié aux Beaux-Arts de Bagdad avec un intérêt particulier pour la peinture et le dessin. En 2005, elle obtient son doctorat en Philosophie de la Peinture grace à sa thèse sur l’ordre logique dans le dessin mésopotamien. Elle a enseigné et est intervenue de nombreuses fois à l’Univer- sité des Beaux-Arts de Bagdad. A la fin de l’année 2006, elle quitte l’Iraq et vient en France en tant qu’artiste résidente à l’Institut du Monde Arabe à Paris. De là, elle répond à l’offre du SOAS de Londres en 2008 et devient un membre de l’ins- titution. Elle tient actuellement un poste au Chelsea College of Art de Londres. Ses oeuvres sont présentes dans nombre d’illustres collections, centres d’art et musées, parmi lesquels figurent le Centre d’art Modern de Bagdad, le Jordan Natio- nal Museum Amman, le Bristish Museum, l’Arab Museum of Modern Art, Doha, La Fondation Barjeel Art, Sharja.

Hanaa Malallah jouie d’une reconnaissance internationale pour son travail sur le matériau et pour son exploration phi- losophique et spirituelle de l’être et du non-être. Elle vit et travaille à Londres.
